Fogging Alert!
Emergency Notice.
The SCC Vector Control District will be fogging poison in neighborhoods beginning 11:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2016.
The area to be fogged is parts of Zip Codes 95125, 95136 and 95118 ZIP codes. Here is the map link:
They may be using Zenivex E4 and/or Merus 2.0. These are both very toxic broad spectrum killers. Zenivex E4 has a very long soil photolysis half-life, meaning the poison will be present on your premises for a very long time, well over a year. Be sure to close your windows.
We do not know if people in the area have been given proper notice. The last time they fogged many people were not notified by door hanger notice as required. If you are in the mapped area let us know if you failed to receive notice of this fogging. They failed to notify the yahoo list of this fogging. July 21, 2016 they failed to notify the yahoo list that they had finished, so many people were left waiting, not knowing if Vector Control had finished. This time the Mercury and East Bay Times provided information on Friday:
There is not enough time to put together a demonstration or maybe even get some fliers distributed as we just found out about this. I have fliers you can pick up, if you can spend some time tomorrow getting them distributed.
